Pirates

This piece’s Art Brut force comes from the unfiltered psychological intensity, while the hard outlines and graphic collisions feel close to graffiti-wall layering.

A colorful, abstract illustration of a human face with exaggerated features, including large lips, a decorated nose, and eyes, with a vibrant, patterned background.

Dude

This piece functions as the mask in the exhibition, with a grotesque face that hides and reveals at the same time. The exaggerated lips, covered eyes, and carnivalesque distortion connect to Art Brut’s raw emotional directness while the simplified color fields give it the impact of a street icon.

Abstract artwork of multiple disembodied facial features including eyes, noses, lips, and parts of faces, arranged in a colorful, cubist style against a yellow background.

Fragments

This work best represents the multiplied self, with faces and partial symbols scattered across the field like psychic debris. It has a graffiti-like composition because the marks feel accumulated, improvised, and public, as if thoughts were tagged across a wall.

Abstract colorful drawing of a face with multiple eyes, surrounded by various shapes including flowers and plants.

Under The Sea

A complex, abstract black and white line drawing with red accents, featuring swirling, organic shapes and intricate details.

This should close the exhibition because it turns the mask-face vocabulary into a more mythic, visionary image. The flaming forms, staring eye, and surreal biomorphic shapes feel outsider-spiritual, while the sharp outlines and electric palette keep it tied to contemporary street graphics.

Bloody Hell

This is the most visceral selection, reducing the image to raw red-and-white impact and agitated linework. Its Art Brut quality lies in its refusal to polish emotion, and its urban influence comes through in the graphic immediacy of the mark.

Abstract illustration of a face with blue eyes, pink cheeks, and colorful flowing lines resembling hair or smoke, set against a yellow background with brick patterns.
Abstract Cubist-style painting of a human face with a large eye, tongue sticking out, and bright colors.
Logo of a clown face with exaggerated features and bright colors.
Abstract, colorful drawing of a surreal scene with various shapes and patterns on a yellow background.
Abstract colorful artwork featuring a central flame with an eye and crescent moon shapes, surrounded by flowing plant-like and wave patterns with purple, green, pink, and yellow hues.
